About Hostel
Mahanadi 2ndBoys’ Hostel was established in the year of 1976 keeping in view the necessity of providing accommodation for those students who came from far to pursue higher education. The hostel has 100 rooms with a capacity to accommodate around 120 students. There is a common room, Computer lab, and facility for mess.
Every year executive and advisory body are elected among the boarders for the smooth and peaceful functioning of the hostel. A Welcome Ceremony is organized for the hostel fresher’s during the month of November/December each year and the best boarder is awarded as Mr. Fresher of the year. The hostel also celebrates Holi, Independence Day, Ganesh Puja, Diwali, Republic Day and Saraswati Puja etc. With a view of providing some recreational activity to the boarders’ cricket matches and different competition such as Essay, Debate, Song, Dance competition etc. are organised.
For the first time the hostel boarders (2012-14 Batch) had taken the initiative of Publishing a hostel magazine named “ The Mahanadi -Flows of Serenity” on the occasion of 38th Annual Hostel Function held on 20thMarch, 2014.
